Bay of Fires
The Bay of Fires is a beautiful coastline in the north east corner of Tasmania between Eddystone Point to the north and Binalong Bay to the south. The bay was named in 1773 by explorer Tobias Furneaux who saw the fires of Aboriginal people (Larapuna tribe) on the beaches.
The main attractions are the beaches wit crystal clear turquoise water, white sand with pink and red granite headlands. Just stunning.
It was voted a few years ago as one of the hot spots in the world by Lonely Planet.
